In his personal and professional life, M. Charles Barber's core values are summed up in an easy to remember acronym: GRIP
Growth: Growth refers to the belief that one's abilities, intelligence, and talents can be developed and improved through dedication, effort, learning, and perseverance. Growing involves embracing life's challenges and continually learning from our wins and losses. "Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen." —2 Peter 3:18
Respect: Respect means treating people with consideration, fairness, and politeness. "Don't be selfish; don't try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don't look out only for your own interests, but taken an interest in others, too." —Philippians 2:3-4
Integrity: Integrity often requires courage to do what is right, even when it's difficult, unpopular, or risky. This can mean standing up for one's beliefs or defending others when it's not easy. Do what is right, even when nobody is looking. "He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity." —Proverbs 2:7; "People with integrity walk safely, but those who follow crooked paths will be exposed." —Proverbs 10:9
Poise: Poise refers to self-assuredness, calmness, and dignity under pressure. It's about maintaining one's composure and confidence, regardless of the circumstances. Having control over one's emotions and responses is a key aspect of poise. "A truly wise person uses few words; a person with understanding is even-tempered." —Proverbs 17:27
God
FFC believes in one true God, existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—three persons, perfect in love, power, and holiness.
"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen." —2 Corinthians 13:14
Salvation
FFC believes that faith alone in Jesus Christ alone guarantees eternal life for anyone who believes in Him for it. The gift of eternal life can never be lost—once saved, always saved.Jesus' death and resurrection provide forgiveness of sins, reconciliation with God, and eternal life. Look at Ephesians 2:8-9, John 3:16, 5:24, 6:47, 11:25-26; 1 Timothy 1:16 and many more verses."For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." —Ephesians 2:8-9"Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; the one who comes to Me will not be hungry, and the one who believes in Me will never be thirsty. But I said to you that you have indeed seen Me, and yet you do not believe. Everything that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I certainly will not cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that of everything that He has given Me I will lose nothing, but will raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.” —John 6:35–40You can learn more about the free grace perspective at Grace Evangelical Society, an organization that promotes the clear proclamation of God’s free salvation through faith alone in Christ alone."Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” —John 11:25-26
Bible
FFC believes that all 66 books of the Bible were divinely inspired; the original documents were written without error."All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work." —2 Timothy 3:16-17Additionally, the New Testament interpretation of the Old Testament is the authoritative way to interpret the Bible.
